Sevenoaks District Council, as a District Council are responsible for the cleaning of all adopted highways and footpaths. It is also responsible for the emptying of litter bins, clearing fly tipped waste and dealing with abandoned vehicles.
Street cleaning is undertaken on a frequency based schedule dependant upon location and varies from daily in towns and village centres, weekly for main roads, monthly for residential areas and every six months for rural roads.

770 incidents of fly tipping were removed (265 tonnes) and 107 vehicles removed as abandoned.
On the baseline perception survey for the Clean Kent Campaign, there was a 71% net agreement from residents of the Sevenoaks district that Kent was a clean county, compared with an average for the whole of Kent of 40%. The biggest concerns expressed by residents who responded to the survey were litter (29%), fly tipping (25%) and dog fouling (24%).
Sevenoaks District Council fully supports the aims and objectives of the Clean Kent Campaign, and like all District councils, is a key participant in achieving its success.
